A Mahogany Classical Guitar Neck 22mm
Overview A Mahogany Classical Guitar Neck 22mm:
Along with cedar, mahogany necks are still the first choice of the vast majority of guitar makers. The combination of its great resistance and low weight make mahogany an ideal wood for the fundamental function demanded from the neck: to support the tension exerted by the strings.
Mahogany is and has been used by many luthiers, who rely on its properties. In addition, its price makes it a very democratic wood. Anybody, from the novice to the established builder, can use a quality piece in his guitar without incurring a great expense. This is another reason why it is found in workshops around the world.
Mahogany is a wood with orange-brown tones, with very open pores (it is imperative to use a filler) and can be machined fantastically well. Although its availability has declined in recent decades, initiatives such as the FSC certification of which we are part guarantee a respectful and sustainable supply in the future.
You can choose between two grades in our mahogany necks. In this, the A grade, you will find pieces with not as uniform in color as in standard and some defects such as knots, color changes, noticeable veins of dark color, etc. Of course, its resistance and stability are not compromised and these defects are always more aesthetic than structural. There are many medium-high range guitars made with our A grade necks.
