The torrefied ash wood has undergone a thermal ageing process that modifies the internal structure of the wood by means of the application of heat in an oxygen-free environment. The ageing of the wood achieved with torrefaction is similar to that achieved naturally over the years. This process improves stability, decreases the capacity to absorb moisture, increases the speed of sound, decreases the weight of the wood and visually its colour gains depth and enhances the grain of the wood. This process improves the acoustic properties, in short, and is highly appreciated by most luthiers.

Glued torrefied ash bodies are very light and an excellent tonal choice. Remember that they are not only glued, but have undergone a drying process and are also sanded. All the properties of ash, but with less weight.
