Honduran Rosewood (Dalbergia stevensonii), also known as Rosul, is one of the most prized woods for building classical and acoustic guitars, especially for backs and sides. Its high density and stiffness provide exceptional projection, with a deep and balanced sound that enhances the bass and midrange with great harmonic richness. Compared to Brazilian Rosewood, it offers a slightly brighter character in the upper midrange, making it an ideal choice for guitars with a warm yet defined tone.

It allows for stunning finishes in dark brown tones with lighter or reddish streaks. While most pieces are cut with the grain along the length of the piece—commonly referred to as "quartered" or "quarter-sawn"—there are others, especially with exotic woods such as Honduran Rosewood, Cocobolo, Ziricote, or Exotic Ebony, where some pieces may be cut partially "flat-sawn" due to the size of the trees.

In any case, when these woods are cut this way, although it may not be the most ideal in terms of sound and instrument stability, it will instead endow the instrument with incredible beauty.
