• These pieces are not classified by quality and are included within an average quality standard, that is to say, when selecting them, cracked pieces, pieces with serious defects or broken and unusable pieces are excluded. Therefore, we will always find healthy pieces that may admit some slight defect, very beautiful pieces, and less striking pieces, always within the variations that each wood has in terms of colour and growth rings.
• The neck is a fundamental part of the instrument due to the tension it must support from the strings, so whenever we talk about necks we will always talk about pieces cut with the growth rings as close as possible to 90º, except for some rare exceptions in woods such as hard maple (better known as Hard Maple) where the cut is usually made the other way around.
