Spool Clamps
Overview Spool Clamps
The most adequate tool for gluing tops and bottoms to the sides of an instrument are undoubtedly the spool clamps. They exert just the right amount of pressure, can be adjusted very easily with a small twist of the wrist and are light and resistant.
It is true that there are other systems for gluing sides (you can use our Rubber Binding Strap or our Quick Clamp Grip SUMMIT® for example) but due to their combination of comfort, precision and price we consider that there is no better alternative.
These spool clamps are made of beech with a central threaded metal rod, and to avoid damaging the wood surfaces, the clamping pieces have a cork cover and the central thread has a rubber cover. You will need about 20 pieces to glue a regular sized guitar.
Of course, they are not only suitable for guitars. You can use them in your own building and repairing of violins, violas, cellos...
