BOTANIC NAME: Pterocarpus soyauxii
COMMON NAMES: Padouk, Padouk, Camwood.
ORIGIN: Gabon
DESCRIPTION:Â The freshly cut Padauk wood is bright orange red and with oxidation / exposure it becomes more reddish. It is moderately hard and heavy. The Padauk tree has a medium texture and large pores. The Padauk lumber is easy to saw and brush on a very smooth surface. The African Padauk is ideal to combine colors with other woods, both for size and for lathe.
