DESCRIPTION: The Purple Heart wood when has just been cut, has a grayish brown heartwood, but with the exposure, it changes to a purple which is more intense. It has no marked grains, and is an ideal wood to turn and combine with other woods. It is known for other names like: Violet wood, Amaranth and Peltogyne.
