Snakewood Figured Classical Guitar Fingerboard
Overview Snakewood Figured Classical Guitar Fingerboard:
The Snakewood Figured Classical Guitar Fingerboard is made with one of the densest woods known: snakewood, also known as amourette. This wood from the northern coast of South America, in the Caribbean and the Antilles, has an exceptional hardness and luster, which makes it simply perfect for use in guitar fretboards. However, it is not only its incredible hardness that makes it stand out: it is its dark patterns on the orange brown that define it and give it its name. Dark specks reminiscent of snake or reptile skin that are specific to this botanical species.
Why figured and non-figured?
Most snakewood pieces, as in this case, have a unique pattern of dark spots reminiscent of snake skin patterns, hence the name. These pieces combine the great mechanical qualities of the wood (hardness, straight grain, almost imperceptible pore, great luster) with an undeniable aesthetic appeal, making them one of the most sought after classical guitar fretboards in our extensive catalog.
