Overview of the Selmer Style Gypsy Jazz Guitar Bridge:
This Allparts finished bridge is designed to be mounted on a Selmer style Gypsy Jazz guitar.
The Selmer guitar or "Selmer-Maccaferri" or simply "Maccaferri" is an unusual acoustic guitar known as Django Reinhardt's favourite instrument. It was produced by Selmer from 1932 until about 1952.
It consists of three pieces of black ebony; one of them is the bridge itself which is held to the slightly curved top of the guitar by the pressure of the strings, the other two pieces are commonly referred to as "mustaches" and are located attached to the top on the sides of the movable bridge.
With a maximum height of 18 mm and a string spacing between the first and the sixth string of 52 mm this bridge can be installed directly or you can use it as a starting point to work on it and finish adjusting it to the size that best suits your guitar.
