Description of the Hosco TL-FE2 Fret File Overview
This file is designed to work the fret ends during fret dressing work. Its pencil shape is perfectly suited for this delicate task. The TL-FE2 is especially suitable for working on nickel silver frets. The edges of the concave part of the file are smooth, so as not to damage the wood of the fingerboard when shaping the fret.
How the TL-FE2 file can be used
Once we have levelled the frets, we will proceed to work them on the sides of the fingerboard. For this task, this file is the ideal tool: With the concave part we can work the fret on the crown part, giving it a rounded shape, while with the sides of the file we will work the part of the fret closest to the fingerboard to remove any burr or edge, and achieve a smooth and comfortable feel along the neck of the guitar. A feature that makes this file an essential tool for levelling and fret crowning tasks is that both the edges of the concave part and the upper side are smooth. This way we will not damage the fingerboard. It is also worth mentioning that the pencil-shaped handle, covered with rubber, provides an optimal grip that allows us to concentrate and control the force we exert when filing the fret.
