AA Curly Maple Acoustic /Electric / Archtop Guitar Neck (700x100x25 mm)
Overview AA Curly Maple Acoustic /Electric / Archtop Guitar Neck (700x100x25 mm):
Curly maple necks are by far the most popular choice for bolt-on electric guitars and many basses. You can find them on low end models as well as luthier and custom shop instruments. The reason is their availability, their excellent properties and their spectacular appearance once finished. In the case of necks, the first and most important properties are rigidity and stability. In this respect, maple is one of the premier woods. Add to that its appearance, with the flamed or curly pattern that we guitarists like so much, and you have it: a winning formula.
European maple - Acer pseudoplatanus - is a pale colored wood, with golden and even slightly reddish reflections. It is a wood with no appreciable grain, which in many cases eliminates the need to use a filler. It is easy to work despite its hardness (although it requires sharp tools) and a bright and attractive finish can be achieved simply by using a scraper or plane, without even using sandpaper. It is undoubtedly one of the most pleasant woods to work with.
Among the AA grade necks, you will find necks with a good amount of flame or curl. Used by many of our customers in their high-end projects, these necks are free of any major defects, although they may have a small blemish that is always outside the working area. A great choice for your next guitar.
