The SG301 machine head range features Gotoh's proprietary "Magnum" locking technology, which uses a knurled wheel on the back of the tuner to hold the string securely in place. This mechanism also makes string changes very fast. Just feed the string through the peg hole and tighten the wheel to keep your strings in position and tune for longer.
Solid brass gears with a 1:18 ratio offer a good balance between tuning speed and accuracy.
 Rock-Solid string post technology eliminates unwanted rattling of the gears, posts, and body assembly. Incorporating special elastic components maximizes the transmission of string vibrations, significantly improving tuning stability. The posts remain strong even during intensive tremolo use.
 Each headstock is permanently sealed and lubricated with Gotoh's 'Lubri-Coat' technology. This non-degradable lubricant ensures better contact between the worm and sprocket, reducing backlash, and greatly improving the accuracy and durability of each tuner.
