DESCRIPTION: Rosewood is one of the most common woods used in the construction of musical instruments, but its physical properties and attractive appearance also make it perfect for use in lathing. A hard wood, once dry, it is resistant to insect attack. Its color is generally dark, covering all shades of brown, usually with a hint of violet. It has a dark, distinct grain that is really striking once the piece has been turned.
