Black Limba wood for lathe
BOTANICAL NAME: Terminalia superba.
TRADE NAMES: Korina, Afara.
ORIGIN: Central and West Africa.
DESCRIPTION: Limba wood is visually white or black (with and without black stripes). This wood is relatively soft and easy to work with. This wood, also called Korina, has a medium thick texture. The Limba lumber has opened pores that require filling if you need or want a smooth surface. Black Limba wood is ideal for turning dishes or salad bowls.
