Snakewood Not Figured Acoustic Guitar Fingerboard
Overview Snakewood Not Figured Acoustic Guitar Fingerboard:
The Snakewood Not Figured Acoustic Guitar Fingerboard is made with one of the densest woods known: snakewood, also known as amourette. This wood from the northern coast of South America, in the Caribbean and the Antilles, has an exceptional hardness and luster, which makes it simply perfect for use in guitar fretboards. However, it is not only its incredible hardness that makes it stand out: it is its dark patterns on the orange brown that define it and give it its name. Dark specks reminiscent of snake or reptile skin that are specific to this botanical species.
Why figured and non-figured?
Most of the Snakewood pieces have a unique pattern of dark spots reminiscent of snake skin patterns, hence the name. However, in some cases, as in the case of these pieces, this pattern is not present. Nevertheless, they possess the great mechanical qualities (hardness, straight grain, almost imperceptible pores, great luster) for which this wood is so highly valued.
