Description of Hosco VS-AGP61 Shield Plate for Fender Stratocaster 11 Hole 59-63 Pickguard

Aluminum shielding plate for early 1960s Fender Stratocaster models.

Instead of using tape, a thick aluminum plate can be installed between the pickguard and body to ground the controls and completely shield the electronics cavity and pickup wiring. (No additional wiring is required, as the potentiometers are grounded by contact).

This original 11-hole mounting design, with the screw more centrally located between the neck and middle pickups, was introduced in late 1959 or early 1960, replacing the 8-hole design. Around 1963, it was replaced by the modern 11-hole design, with the screw placed closer to the middle pickup. The plate has cutouts for the three single-coil pickups, the toggle switch, the three potentiometers, and all the mounting screws. If you want to install it on a left-handed guitar, simply flip it over.

It is important to note that this plate is not compatible with Fender's modern 11-hole pickguard design, which has the center and side mounting screws closest to the center pickup.
