Description of the Luban Standard Block Plane

Luban planes offer excellent value and quality, and are inspired by the standards of historic British manufacturers. Highly recommended by luthiers, cabinet makers and woodworkers, these planes offer great precision thanks to their +/- 1.5 thousandth of an inch tolerance grinding and blades made of T10 carbon steel, water hardened to RC63. They feature Stanley's Bed Rock system, which provides maximum stability and adjustment of the blade mouth even when the blade is mounted, allowing fine adjustments to be made without disassembling the tool. They also feature select hardwood handles and high-quality solid brass hardware.

The Block Standard model has a 90° mortised and ground steel body and an adjustable brass counterblade with a brass gear. Both the blade and the mouth opening can be adjusted by means of brass toothed screws, which in the case of the mouth opening allows cutting from very thin sheets to roughing by cutting thick chips. Its weight of 825 grams makes it very comfortable to use.
