Cajon Flamenco Top or Bottom Board
Overview Cajon Flamenco Top or Bottom Board:
Our Cajon Flamenco Tops or Bottom Boards are made of birch plywood. In these boards the gluing is normally done with either phenolic or ureic glues. We prefer this second option because the builders assure that it has a better impact on the sound.
It presents a practically perfect face, without knots with diameters greater than 5mm and uniformity of tone. This side is partially better than the reverse side where larger knots and some natural discoloration of the wood may appear. This is not a problem, since it is the side that is inside the box and will not be exposed.
However, these boards are not only used to build flamenco cajones. There are a multitude of possibilities within the guitar builder's workshop where pieces of birch plywood board can be used. From bracing and internal reinforcements to even guitar pedalboards. All of them can benefit from using pieces of this material.
