Mexican Granadillo Veneer Sheet Marquetry 550x200x0,5mm
Overview Mexican Granadillo Veneer Sheet Marquetry 550x200x0,5mm:
Wood veneer is one of our most demanded products. It has different uses in the construction of stringed musical instruments: It is generally used for guitar profiles, combining different colors or various curved pieces of solid wood. It is also used in the manufacture of the rosettes of guitars, classical, flamenco and acoustic, or ukuleles, for instance, previously cut into tiny strips and composing intricate patterns. But wood veneer, either natural or colored, can also be used for the binding in the body of electric guitars and basses, to form part of the fingerboard inlays... The uses of natural wood veneer are unlimited in the field of luthiery.
In this case, the veneer is Mexican Granadillo. A very beautiful wood, with tones ranging from light brown with hints of pink and orange to the deepest chocolate color, sometimes blended with a light vanilla-colored sapwood. Its surface is often speckled with small knots and swirls that make it really striking. It is very rigid and hard in solid pieces, which sometimes causes problems when bending it: problems that disappear if we use it in veneer format.
