Likewise, veneer is the raw material for rosettes, previously cut into tiny strips and composing intricate patterns. In this case, the veneer is Bubinga, an African wood with one of the best strength-to-weight ratios of any known wood. It is a deep pinkish color, with streaks, markings and very diverse patterns of darker colors, ranging from red to purple. As with other veneers, there are a multitude of uses for a wood with such a special and unique appearance.
