Set of three double-edged files for acoustic guitar nut carving (.016″/.042″, .026″/.050″, .036″/.055″). Each file in the set has two different groove sizes. The file with the red handle can be used for .016" and .042" strings, the blue .026 and .050 and the yellow .036 and .055. With these sizes we are able to carve a wide range of nut sizes for different acoustic guitar string gauges.

Why Use Hosco Nut Files

Most of the times, when a guitar or bass presents problems in tuning stability, the causes are to be found in an incorrect nut carving, if not in a nut of inappropriate material, such as plastic. When carving the nut, it is essential to have the right files for the job. With the Hosco nut files we will achieve uniformity in the grooving of the nut, while ensuring that the bottom of the groove is correctly leveled thanks to the length of the blade. Its rounded shape allows the string to rest on its entire surface, preventing the string from getting stuck in the groove. The handle of each file is covered in rubber for a good grip, and comes in three colours for easy identification.
