- This book consists in a catalogue which has been published for the exhibition “The Spanish Guitar”, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York between 1991 and 1992, and in the Museo Municipal in Madrid in 1992, as part of the activities for the Quincentennial of the Discovery of America (“The Meeting of two worlds”).
- Both the exhibit and this wide catalogue provides us with an opportunity to show a wide public the features of the different Spanish schools of guitar construction, adding to the most common clichés on this instrument something of its less-known history as an artistic object of great delicacy and beauty.
