The Firemist Gold color was introduced in 1964 by GM/Cadillac under the name Firemist Saddle, which was later changed to Saddle Firemist in 1965. Fender renamed it Firemist Gold to make it more descriptive, as it replaced Shoreline Gold in its lineup starting in 1965.

Since then, Fender has widely used this color across all its models.

Over the last decade, Nitorlack has become one of the leaders in nitrocellulose lacquers, accurately replicating most of the exclusive colors of the major guitar brands. Nitorlack products are used by countless builders around the world, both professionals and amateurs.
