- Padouk Carved Top for Electric Guitar and Bass is a very good option for those who want to beautify their Guitar Body with a medium thickness (16 mm), perfect to carve and shape the Guitar Body Top and thus recreate the great Carved Tops designs. On the other hand, it allows an easier carving than the thicker ones, reducing the weight of the instrument and of course spendin less money, having at the end a great guitar.
As for the Padouk, is a red coral-colored wood when freshly sawn, over the years and due to its exposure to air it becomes dark brownish-mauve. The fiber can be straight or slightly interlaced. The grain is thick or rough. The drying rate varies from rapidly to normal. Sawing is easy but requires powerful equipment.
