Micro-mesh is a unique, cushioned abrasive consisting of silicon carbide crystal in an elastic layer on a cloth backing. Unlike standard sandpapers, Micro-mesh retains its cutting edge up to sixteen times longer, and the cutting particles are in floating suspension, allowing for smooth cuts as small as 0.001" at a time, with little heat build-up. By using the micro-mesh with soapy water, a scratch-free mirror finish can be obtained.Â
