SIDES
The Lute sides are the symmetrical lateral pieces that form, together with the backs and the tops, the harmonic box of the instrument, this one is in charge to gather the sound and to do of transmitter of the waves. The top is the component that more affects the sound, but we must not underestimate the influence of both the sides and the backs, essential components for both the sound and to give beauty to the instrument.
Generally, the higher the density of the wood, the lower the sound transmitted by the harmonic box.
