Hygrometers, Calipers and Rulers

All lutherie or turnery workshops must have measurement and precision tools. Rulers, calipers or hygrometers are some of the essential tools for the good construction of the instrument. The caliper to measure the thickness of the wood is very useful to adjust the tops of both guitars and violins. All the rulers or meters used in lutherie are vital to adjust pieces, frets or adjust the scale of the instrument.

Hygrometers are basically humidity meters for all types of wood, very useful to know the state of drying of our pieces and to determine the optimal time to start working with them.
