Brazilian Lacewood wood for lathe
BOTANIC NAME: Nectandra rubra
COMMON NAMES : : Brazilian Lacewood, Louro Faia, Leopardwood, Brazilian Silky Oak.
ORIGIN: Tropical South America.
DESCRIPTION: The Brazilian Lacewood is scaly and mottled with dark spots, varying from a small pattern, to a larger and more striking figure. It has a thick texture and it is moderately hard. It is easy to use but it tends to splinter, and has. It is a scarce wood, with a very bright finished and ideal to work in lathe. This wood is also known as: Louro Faia and Leopardwood.
