Turpentine Rosin Oil Medium 250 ml
Turpentine Rosin Oil Medium 250 ml
Turpentine Rosin Oil medium is a traditional varnish material highly valued in lutherie for creating transparent grounds on bowed string instruments as well as on other traditional instruments such as classical guitars and mandolins. Originally it was obtained by distilling turpentine, a process later replaced by a safer method consisting of cooking colophony and dissolving it in natural turpentine. It is supplied in 250 ml bottles, ready for workshop use.
The medium viscosity grade provides a balanced consistency for use in grounds and oil varnishes, offering good penetration and transparency without being too fluid.
A reference product for luthiers seeking to reproduce historical recipes and achieve stable, homogeneous finishes that remain faithful to traditional craftsmanship.
