Hosco HFS-J1-P24 Fretwire Stainless Steel Jumbo Set 24 Pieces
The HFS-J1-P24 model by Hosco is made of stainless steel, providing outstanding wear resistance and a much longer lifespan compared to traditional nickel-silver. This set includes 24 precut frets which, although already sized for the fingerboard, still require final adjustment after installation.
With a Jumbo profile, this fretwire features a crown 1.45 mm high and 2.9 mm wide. It has a core tang of 0.6 mm and barbs reaching a total width of 0.95 mm, a specification that ensures a firm grip in existing slots and makes it particularly suitable for refretting. In addition, the tang is trimmed for binding, allowing easier installation on bound fingerboards.
The pieces are pre-curved to a 10" radius and cut in progressively increasing lengths to match the widening of the fingerboard: starting at about 43 mm near the nut and reaching about 53 mm around the 12th fret. Japanese manufacturing guarantees rigorous quality control and a consistent finish across all pieces.
