SCIENTIFIC NAME: Acacia melanoxylon

ORIGIN: Africa, Asia or South America

DESCRIPTION: It has a density of 640 kg/m3. Its color ranges from yellow to brown, acquiring reddish tones along the time. It has a straight fiber and a medium grain. It is a wood of great durability even on the outdoors. It resists humidity quite well and even the attack of insects and fungi.

RECOMMENDATIONS: : Although its straight fiber favors its workability, its hardness complicates it. It has a good result when gluing and finishing. It also allows turning and curved wood work. When working with it, beware because it can cause slight allergies and eye irritations.

USE: It is used for woodturning, to build exterior and interior furniture, to make floors, etc.
