The bell is the very bottom part of the oboe, that attaches to the lower joint. The oboe’s bell is flared like a trumpet, which helps to amplify and balance the sound and tone of the sound created by the instrument.
Cocobolo, one of the most spectacular woods in our extensive catalog, is also a reference wood for woodwind instrument makers. The reasons are multiple: its hardness, brightness, spectacular finish without the need for excessive sanding or oiling... in addition to the sound, highly valued by the builders. As if this were not enough, add to this its amazing appearance, with a multitude of tones ranging from a vivid orange to a deep purple, often mixed in the same piece with amazing results.
