Indian rosewood is highly prized for its deep color, distinctive aroma, and tight grain. With a density of 870–900 kg/m³, it’s dense, stable, and excellent for turning and fine carving when worked with sharp tools and control.
Native to India and botanically named Dalbergia latifolia, this wood is ideal for mouthpieces, turned bowls, handles, detailed carvings, or small sculptures where finish and precision matter. It takes wax and oil beautifully, giving warm, elegant results. In our store, you’ll find precision chisels, natural oils, and fine abrasives to work it properly.
