Birch wood is a versatile and reliable choice for turning and carving. Its uniform pale color and fine texture allow for clean cuts and precise shapes. With a density of 640–670 kg/m³, it is easy to control by hand or on the lathe.
Native to Europe and botanically named Betula pendula, it sands evenly and accepts smooth finishes. It’s perfect for functional bowls, turned handles, decorative carvings or minimalist sculptures. Its neutral tone makes it ideal for dyes, resin work or custom finishing. In our store, you’ll find gouges, fine abrasives and clear oils for working it with accuracy.
