European maple is a pale, stable wood with a fine texture, perfect for smooth surfaces and clean detailing. With a density of 640 kg/m³, it's firm enough for crisp shapes, yet easy to work with both on the lathe and in hand carving.
Native to Central Europe and Western Asia and botanically known as Acer pseudoplatanus, it's ideal for turned handles, stylized figures, simple bowls, tops, or decorative forms. Its tight grain allows for smooth and even finishes. Our store offers balanced chisels, light oils, and fine abrasives to help you get the best results from this versatile wood.
