La Bella 760FHBB Hofner Beatle Bass Guitar Strings Description
La Bella "Beatle" bass string sets are made with special lengths and gauges. Each string is handmade and calibrated to fit the three different bridge types manufactured by Höfner®.
They are stainless steel strings that deliver the deep, authentic "Beatles" tone typical of La Bella flatwound bass strings.
They fit Höfner "Beatle" basses and similar models that require a 34" ball-end to silk. String gauges are .050, .065, .080 and .100 with bass size ball ends.
They are packaged with MAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging) technology to prevent rust and ensure freshness.
Do not use this set for medium scale basses as they will not fit due to the construction of the strings. La Bella makes medium scale sets for all types of basses.
Brothers Emilio and Olinto Mari left the family business to seek new opportunities in America. They manufactured gut and steel strings in their small apartment in lower Manhattan. As word spread among area musicians, so did the popularity of their product. A local music store took a liking to the brothers' high-quality, handmade strings and made them an offer to help them expand. Brothers Emilio and Olinto Mari moved to New York and quickly became known for their high quality handmade strings. The strings are produced under the brand names La Preferita, Sweetone, Criterion and New-Tone. The first factory opened in 1914 at 170 Fifth Avenue.
