Wax-free Very Light Shellac 100 g
Wax-free Very Light Shellac 100 g
Extra pale dewaxed shellac is a solid natural resin of animal origin, obtained from the secretion of the Kerria lacca insect. It comes in the form of very pale yellow flakes, resulting from a bleaching and dewaxing process.
Due to its high purity and transparency, it is especially suitable for preparing fine varnishes in lutherie, providing a bright, uniform, and aging-resistant finish. It is used in both the construction of bowed string instruments and the restoration of antique instruments.
Its solubility in alcohol allows the preparation of stable solutions that are easy to apply, offering durable protection and enhancing the natural beauty of wood.
Note: The term "extra pale" refers to the traditional classification of shellac based on its color, indicating an especially light tone among natural shellac varieties.
