The items in this category are products that have been discarded for direct use in instrument making, unless they are repaired. These are items that, during the quality selection process, were excluded from all standard grades. These clearance products are sold with some type of flaw or defect and are intended for use in repairs, decoration, small adjustments, or to practice lutherie techniques.

The defects that may be found in these items include: cracks, knots, wormholes, stains, breakages, and measurements below those specified in the product description.
