  Black Limba is a wood with a cream white slightly pearly color that gets darker when the wood is exposed to the light. It can present yellowish areas covered with blackish streaks. Growth rings are frequently visible. The fiber can be straight or slightly intertwined. It has a straight and closed grain that is occasionally intertwined or wavy with a uniform but thick texture. It produces a beautiful, warm and rich tone, similar to Mahogany, but with just one more touch of resonance. The fine brown and black stripes make it much more attractive than Mahogany.
