Hosco Phosphor Bronze Medium Frets – Set of 24
This set of precut Hosco fretwire is manufactured in Japan from phosphor bronze, a material appreciated for its bright tone, sensitive feel and excellent wear resistance. It is an outstanding choice for electric guitars where extra definition, attack and clarity are desired, while also working well for acoustic instruments.
Each fret is cut according to the actual dimensions of a standard fingerboard: 43 mm at the nut and 53 mm at the 12th fret, plus an additional 0.5 mm of extra length. This provides the necessary margin to seat the fret securely and trim the ends flush with the fingerboard after leveling, without cutting from continuous wire or measuring each piece.
The Medium profile offers a comfortable balance between precision and control. With a crown height of 1.2 mm and a crown width of 2.4 mm, these frets respond well to bending, keep chords and melodic lines clear and feel neither too low nor excessively tall. The 10" radius matches many modern electric fingerboards.
The set includes 24 precut frets, enough for 22-fret guitars with some extra pieces for replacements or adjustments. A practical and reliable option for luthiers and players looking to enjoy the advantages of phosphor bronze without the hassle of cutting from bulk wire.
