Luban planes offer excellent value and quality, and are inspired by the standards of historic British manufacturers. Highly recommended by luthiers, cabinet makers and woodworkers, these planes offer great precision thanks to their +/- 1.5 thousandth of an inch tolerance grinding and blades made of T10 carbon steel, water hardened to RC63.

The Model 101 is a favorite plane of modelers and luthiers for working small-scale precision parts, as it would be difficult to use a larger plane or would have access problems at some points.

This low angle plane is especially suited for end grain work. The depth of cut can be easily adjusted from deep cuts to translucent chips. Manufactured from a single bronze casting, the body of the plane has an excellent quality flat sole.

The sole measures 86 mm long by 32 mm wide and incorporates a 22 mm flat blade made of RC62-63 carbon steel.
