Fender introduced the Candy Tangerine color on its guitars in 2002. Widely used by Fender Custom Shop for Relic finishes, it draws inspiration from the Candy colors of Hot Rod and Custom cars.

Candy colors in Fender were developed from the mid-to-late 1950s.

Candy Tangerine is a translucent orange designed for a two-step process. It requires a metallic base coat before applying the color. This base is typically gold (GoldTop), but silver (Inca Silver or Silversparkle) can also be used.

Over the last decade, Nitorlack has become one of the leaders in nitrocellulose lacquers, accurately replicating most of the exclusive colors of the major guitar brands. Nitorlack products are used by countless builders around the world, both professionals and amateurs.
