Overview Bass Drone Stock / Tenor Drone Joint FSC 100% Ebony Galician Bagpipe 140x35x35 mm:

In Maderas Barber we have available all the necessary sizes to build your Galician bagpipe. With pieces of this dimensions you can manufacture either the Bass Drone Stock or the Tenor Drone Joint of a Galician bagpipe.

Ebony is, together with blackwood, the most sought-after wood in the construction of woodwind instruments. Like the former, it has similar characteristics in terms of hardness, ease of turning and its timbral qualities, being somewhat less dense -and therefore lighter- and not as lustrous as blackwood. In any case, it is one of the favorite woods of woodwind instrument makers.

Features:

  • Dimensions: 140x35x35 mm
  • Botanical name: Diospyros crassiflora Hiern
  • Origin: Africa
  • Density: 1030-1050 kg/m3
