Pau Rosa is a very hard and lustrous African wood. It gets its name from its pink color in all possible variations, with orange shades and even small traces of black. Another of its most outstanding characteristics is the appearance of small healthy knots on part of its surface. These knots do not affect the qualities of the piece, on the contrary, they give each piece a unique look.

It is a very dense wood and of intense color, not needing much work to obtain a glossy finish only with a plane or scraper. Due to its open pore, it is essential to use a pore sealer. All these qualities together with its economical price make it an excellent alternative to other woods for woodturning projects.
