Luban planes are known for their excellent quality-to-price ratio and are inspired by the standards of historical British manufacturers. Highly regarded by luthiers, woodworkers, and cabinetmakers, they offer great precision thanks to their flat sole tolerance of +/- 0.0015" and T10 water-hardened high-carbon steel blades rated at RC63.
The No. 7 bench plane features a Bedrock-style adjustable mouth, a bubinga handle, and a stainless steel lever cap. It comes equipped with a 60 mm wide, 3 mm thick blade for excellent stability and control in every stroke.
This model is ideal for flattening and jointing long surfaces such as soundboards, backs, laminated neck blanks, or panels. Its slightly shorter sole compared to the No. 8 provides a perfect balance between precision and maneuverability, making it a very versatile tool in the workshop.
