Wood veneer is one of our most demanded products. It has different uses in the construction of stringed musical instruments: It is generally used for guitar profiles, combining different colors or various curved pieces of solid wood. It is also used in the manufacture of the rosettes of guitars, classical, flamenco and acoustic, or ukuleles, for instance, previously cut into tiny strips and composing intricate patterns. But wood veneer, either natural or colored, can also be used for the binding in the body of electric guitars and basses, to form part of the fingerboard inlays... The uses of natural wood veneer are unlimited in the field of luthiery.
In this case, the veneer is made of Padauk, an African wood of a very intense red color, highly valued in the world of carpentry and, for some years now, massively used in the construction of guitars. Padauk has a red tone with subtle variations that, for example, red dyed veneer cannot emulate.
