This Quilted Master Maple Drop Top (Acer macrophyllum), sourced from North America with a density of 630-700 kg/m³, belongs to the MB Exclusive selection by Maderas Barber: pieces individually catalogued for their exceptional figure and quality.

Drop Tops are designed to enhance the body of an electric guitar or bass by gluing them onto the body wood. At 6 mm thick, they sit between a thin decorative veneer and a thicker Carved Top: lighter and more affordable than the latter, yet equally capable of transforming the visual appearance of the instrument. Their thickness also allows straightforward contouring for those who wish to add a slight arch.

The Quilted Master figure is the most prized within figured Maple: a deep, regular three-dimensional relief with a wave or quilted effect that shifts with light and viewing angle. Under transparent or translucent finishes, the result is spectacular.

Supplied as two symmetrical halves (bookmatched) ready to glue, with approximate dimensions of 500/550 × 170/200 × 6 mm each.
