Royal Blackwood Fingerboard for Electric Guitar (530 x 72 x 8 mm)

Royal Blackwood starts from Purple Heart or Amaranto (Peltogyne catingae), to which a hydrothermal process is applied, alternating heating cycles and forced air to accelerate natural oxidation throughout the core of the wood. The result is a deep, uniform black tone across the full section.

The treatment contributes to improved dimensional stability and structural consistency, especially relevant when making fingerboards. After processing, moisture content is approximately 8%, appropriate for workshop use.

Workshop Performance

In machining, it works similarly to natural Purple Heart. With a density range of 900–1000 kg/m³, it provides good surface hardness and wear resistance, suitable for continued use on electric guitar.

All pieces are supplied sanded on both faces.
