Exotic ebony is a wood that presents a beautiful color contrast between the dark black characteristic of ebony and lighter areas of pale yellow to pinkish color, in really colorful lengthwise strip patterns. These pieces will generally be counter grained, which gives them a great variation of colors and a unique look. In addition, the ravishingly smooth look of exotic ebony adds a touch of elegance and sophistication to the overall aesthetics of the instrument.

Exotic ebony grading:

Any piece of higher categories can enter the Pinhole category if it presents several holes caused by the previous action of some xylophagous caterpillar (dead and no longer able to do any damage). This is why in the pinhole grade we will find pieces of different qualities and characteristics, unified only by the presence of these holes, which can -on the other hand- be easily sealed.
