AAA Honduras Cedar Neck Natural Dry 8 Years Classical Guitar
Honduras cedar neck specially selected for building classical guitars and other string instruments.
This wood has been naturally dried for over 8 years, providing excellent dimensional and structural stability. The slow and even loss of moisture minimizes the risk of warping and ensures a balanced acoustic response, while also making it easier to achieve precise craftsmanship during construction.
Along with mahogany, cedar remains the first choice for most luthiers when making necks. Its great strength and low weight make it ideal for fulfilling its primary role: withstanding string tension without deformation. Its widespread use by some of the world’s greatest guitar makers confirms its suitability for this purpose.
Honduras cedar (Cedrela odorata) stands out for its warm orange-brown color with golden highlights and its characteristic pleasant aroma. It has an open pore structure, so the use of grain filler is highly recommended, and it is very easy to work with.
How Do We Classify These Honduras Cedar Necks?
In AAA quality, you will find necks with very straight grain, almost always parallel to the longitudinal axis of the neck. Cut at 90° or with little variation. No notable defects, uniform color, and low weight. Rigid and stable, they will undoubtedly deliver excellent results.
